MEET DEREK DARLING
Derek is the President here at Sidco Filter, with his degrees in engineering and business, he can help configure that specialty filter you’ve been trying to source. He is here striving to keep your costs down while working to expand our product lines and filter offerings.
Derek will be attending the Filtration Show in Chicago in February 2020 and would love to set up a meeting with you if you are attending.

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here at Sidco, what would it be?
Customer Champion. I am always looking for ways to help customers succeed or add value to what we do.
What is your previous work experience? How does it translate to serving the customers in our industry?
I have worked in everything from heavy machinery to cell phone components. The wide variety of customers and products makes me well-rounded and allows me to bring a fresh perspective to this industry.
What do you enjoy about the work you do at Sidco?
This is a great team and so friendly! I really love working where everyone is so focused on doing a good job and can have fun doing it.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I read a lot and I really love listening to music. My son got me into skiing last year, so I am looking forward to the winter for the first time in my life! You are never too old to learn something new.
What volunteering or passion projects do you enjoy outside of work?
My wife and I own an art gallery that supports local artists and the local arts community. The gallery hosts monthly exhibitions of different artists or different art forms. It’s a great way to meet a lot of interesting creative people and see some spectacular art.
Any other fun facts about you?
I love to travel and have been to 23 countries and four continents so far!
